GaiaZOO opened in 2016 their Himalaya exhibit. This is one large exhibits with as main residents the red panda and muntjac. It is the final exhibit on a journey through the Taiga part of GaiaZOO. The exhibit has significant height differences starting on a hill and ending in a large pond. Visitors can see the animals on several viewpoints at different heights.  Also visitors from the Hof van Gaia (business centre) have a view over the pond towards the Himalaya exhibit. Additional, the plants and trees selected are attractive for butterflies and birds. Even wild kingfishers are regularly found along the pond.
